Pulsatilla ‘Rote Glocke’  Red Bells.    Not just your average spring ephemeral.  After a month or more of bloom mature plants produce, out of that boss of yellow stamens, big fluffy silvery seed heads.  Late April to early June.  Seed grown from Jelitto is somewhat variable.  The true garnet red is pictured above but have variants of carmine red, deep rose, royal purple, and magenta.  Well-drained soil.  Full sun.

The plant in the center picture has been blooming since late April and is still in flower as the first flowers on top are producing their silky fluff.
